FAQ

ordering

Can I walk in?

Absolutely. We’d love to have you at our store. We’re located at 15466 Los Gatos Blvd Ste 113 Los Gatos, CA 95032. This is on the Pet Food express side of the Trader Joe’s plaza.

Can I order in advance?

Certainly! Please order here. You can pick up as early as 10 mins from now unless it’s a large order. And you can order up to 2 weeks in advance. Please give 7-10 days notice for orders $150+ to ensure that we can fulfill your order and account for any packaging requests.

do you have a vegan option?

Not at this time.

Do you deliver?

We do! Order through our website here.

Do you make anything besides cookies?

We pride ourselves on being a cookie specialty shop :) But our 6 oz cookies called Pudges have been used in place of cakes, and and at celebrations like weddings, birthdays, baby showers, corporate events, and more. Our cookies are typically used as favors, but have also been displayed on trays and towers.

If you’re interested in Pudgifying your event, please fill out this inquiry form here with any details about your event. We love to hear how our cookies will be enjoyed! Please note that we only supply the cookies!

Do you ship?

Unfortunately we don’t. If you’d like to buy cookies for shipping purposes, we recommend ordering Pudges with individual packaging. We recommend the cookies arrive within 3 days to your destination. Unlike most other baked goods, pudges are designed to stay pretty fresh for several days and come with well-tested reheating instructions. In our personal experience, we found USPS to be the most cost-efficient if you can do the packaging (bubble wrap or other cushioning), but UPS will take care of your packaging needs for a fee if you're tight on time.

Are your cookies safe for customers with food allergies?

We bake all of our cookies on shared equipment in our kitchen. Our ingredients commonly contain milk, eggs, wheat, peanuts, soy, pecans, walnuts. You can find the allergens for our cookies listed when you order (in store and online). If you or your recipient has a severe allergy, please know that while we do our best to prevent cross-contamination, this bakery is not allergy-free. Please reach out to our team for any questions or concerns.

do you have a gluten-free option?

Unfortuantely we've decided not to continue making our gluten free chocolate chip cookie. We had a killer recipe, but due to low sales, we no longer stock the ingredients. If we see a big demand for this, we will reconsider!

do you take custom requests?

We do not accept custom requests. Examples of custom requests include: a batch with more or less of any ingredient, a "less sweet" or "more sweet" version, replacing ingredients, special flavors, etc.

We spend weeks and months testing our recipes to make sure they meet our standards in terms of flavor, texture, bake, and aesthetic. When we make small un-tested changes, unintended effects can happen. Quality is really important to us, and we want to serve you cookies that truly represent us.

All that aside, we love suggestions and feedback, so don't hesitate to reach out on Instagram or email us at orders@batch22bakery.com with any ideas!

about us

what's your specialty?

We're a cookie specialty shop, but among our cookies, the 6 oz Pudges are our pride and joy. One special feature is our rotating seasonal menu. We always offer a variety of flavors spanning from American classics to unique and innovative flavors. We develop each flavor extensively, bringing forward flavor and depth with a just-right sweetness.

what's the origin of the Batch 22 name?

Batch 22 is a play on Catch-22. And, it alludes to our extensive flavor testing process (although the first Pudge certainly took more than 22 batches.)

Some references to Batch 22 Bakery and Pudge in the wild:

- Pudge, in Lilo & Stitch, in which Pudge is a fish.
- Batch 22, in Friends, in which Phoebe tries to recreate her Grandma's cookies...22 batches later, they realized it was a Nestlé Tollhouse recipe.

when did you open?

We opened Batch 22 as a home bakery in May 2020 in Amy's childhood home in Cupertino. It was the peak of the pandemic and we offered twice-weekly delivery and a Friday pickup. Eventually we added weekend pop-up events, corporate catering, weddings and evens.

In May of 2025, we opened the doors to our first brick and mortar store, finally offering service 7 days a week :)

what are your values?

1. Quality above all. We didn't have a childhood dream to own a business. Rather, it was the obsession and hard work we put into cookie-testing that drove us to open up shop and see if we can serve cookies as a way of living. Quality is essential from cookies to customer service:

- Cookie quality: We define a good cookie as: having accurate flavor and depth of flavor, having pleasant texture, and a good bake. We have a meticulous testing process for each cookie, and only release flavors when we're proud of them. We often release updates to existing cookie recipes as needed, or as we learn more.

- Cookie consistency: Each customer should have the same great experience again and again.

- Ordering experience: Should be fast and easy from the minute you try to order, to the minute you receive your delivery or pickup.

- Customer service: Service in the food industry is usually hit or miss. We prefer to be awesome and responsive, as if you're talking to a friend!

2. Transparency. We love to share what we're working on and what we're learning as a new business. In general, we communicate often with our customers and and include them in our processes (e.g. voting on seasonal flavors). We also ask for feedback early & often, and use it to upgrade various aspects of our business - everything from ordering process, to cookie flavors. Transparency with our customers has helped us build a lil cookie community :) You grow with us, and vice versa.

3. Growth. One of the most fulfilling parts of this bakery is developing new flavors, continuously learning how to push the boundaries of cookie creation, and working at increasing scale. Each new challenge is a new way to hone our craft, to try new things, and fast-fail often.
